Tri-ang SpaceX Superset 1 No. 1175 - Pt 6 SPACE STATION SERIES Reconnaissance 2

The Reconnaissance 2 spaceship by Tri-ang was mostly likely a derivative design copied from the Air Force's XB-70 Valkyrie bomber from 1964. There are differences of course but the Tri-ang piece has the 'feel' of the Valkyrie. Be Blessed and Relish Life! Ed

Shown here with one of Tri-ang's figures, you can see just how small many of the spaceships were - definitely not to scale with the figures!

The engines are ganged underneath the fuselage just as they were with the Valkyrie

Triang SpaceX Reconnaissance 2 (Golden Astronaut Reconnaissance 1 Substitute)

Here's another Golden Astronaut substitute however, although this was taken directly out of GA packaging and photographed, there is no difference between this and the later purple color version Triang SpaceX to include the 'R2' peel-&-stick appliqué. Golden Astronaut's version is supposed to be 'Reconnaisance 1', not '2' but it appears they didn't bother changing the number. It too, along with the Supply Force 'Mercury' ship, is designed to fire projectiles although they were referred to as 'moon probes' in this case. Again, I'll publish the full set of photos when we get around to the Golden Astronaut stuff. The design origin for this can be seen here on the SpaceX Central website. The ship measures 4 3/8" (11.11cm) L x 1 3/4" (4.44cm) wingspan x 1"(2.54cm) H. Enjoy! Opa Fritz
