Marx #4672 'The Flintstones' Playset (1961) - Pt 9 Figures: Dino and Baby Puss

Let's look at Fred and Wilma's pets: Dino the dino (DEE-no, the DYE-no), who is a Snarkosaurus, and Baby Puss, their Saber-tooth Tiger. Now, don't go looking for Snarkosaurus in any serious dinosaur guide - that's totally made up for the cartoon. During the course of the series, Dino would become a rather major figure while Baby Puss was almost entirely relegated to the closing credits.

The Flintstones actually had two pets, Baby Puss (who appears in the credits but only in a couple of episodes), and Dino (DEE-no) a Snorkasaurus - which is a totally unofficial, made-up type of dinosaur.

Here's the second of two Dino's included in Ferrero Italy's Flintstones Set 1. This one has a separate bowl with removable bone.

For some odd reason, Ferrero Italy decided to include two Dino's in Set 1. Okay. It is what it is. This figure shows Dino breaking out of his dog house (only the roof of the doghouse was part of the set, the rest is implied).

While each figure is marked with the set number, most are harder to read. This one was easy to make out.
