I got the urge to break out some of my Little Green Army Men (or in this case, the Blue & Gray). The Halloween train layout has been dismantled and I started putting down track for another temporary set-up but then thought, hey, why don't I play with some of my other toys instead? - at least for a little while. Soooo, I broke out the Americana Souvenir and Gifts (the immediate successor to BMC, prior to BMC regaining its foothold) Gettysburg playset. I had covered the playset before back in 2014, but that was basically a photo essay of the set contents. This time I wanted to see it set-up in a play environment. So here's what it looked like. The space is about 44" (1.11m) x 70" (1.78m) which isn't that big, but it still dwarfed the 64 figures in the set. In this set-up the field looks empty, as if this were a minor skirmish between a couple of scouting parties. Tomorrow we'll have a look at a proper battleground - or at least as proper as can be had in 40"x70". Enjoy! Opa Fritz

Something Different: Americana's Gettysburg Playset - Pt 1 54mm Blue & Gray Skirmish
A very selectively compressed version of Little Round Top perhaps?
Good vantage point for artillery

Americana #98530 Authentic Gettysburg Action Figures Playset - Pt 3
The Americana #98530 Authentic Gettysburg Action Figures Playset includes enough figures and accessories to make a nice display and I wanted to see how they would all fit on the display base I made. The only things left out were the flagpoles and Gen Lee's headquarters which was too big to fit comfortably anywhere on the display. Here's a few shot of the results. Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina

Americana #98530 Authentic Gettysburg Action Figures Playset - Pt 2
Today we'll take a look at the accessories included in the playset. Most of these we've covered before, them having been included in other Americana sets: Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina
Meade's HQ was just covered back on 11 Sep.
All the figures have also been previously covered here on the blog
General Winfield Scott Hancock
Union General Grant on Horse
General James Longstreet
Gen Lee
Here's a couple of accessories not covered in previous posts.
Flagpole. Each flagpole comes in two pieces, the pole and a rock pile base/ It's the tallest Civil War pole that I'm aware of at 7 1/2" (19.1cm) H
Lee's HQ. Lee's headquarters during the conflict was a stone house on Seminary Ridge owned by "Widow" Mary Thompson

The Americana version measures 10 1/2" (26.7cm) W x 10 1/2"(26.7cm) D x 6 5/8" (16.8cm) H. The thing assembled without too much hassle but those chimneys refused to lay on the roof straight. To keep them in a proper upright position would require snipping off one or both of the attachment pegs and gluing them on the roof with perhaps some clear silicon glue.
