Marx Battleground, Training Center, and Other Military Playset Pieces - Marx Battleground Planes Part 3 (Final) - Japanese Zero - Silver SP

It's too bad Marx didn't make more different types of WWII aircraft for its Battleground sets. An ME-109, Spitfire, or a host of other candidates would have been awesome, but it is what it is and all we have are the three. The Zero measures 4.625" (11.74cm) L x 5.75" (14.60cm) wingspan x 1.375" (3.49cm) H.

Battleground Playset Japanese Zero

To the best of my knowledge, Marx only made three types of airplanes for their 'Battleground' playsets and this is the last post for those three (for now). It measures 4 5/8" (11.74cm) L x 5 3/4" (14.60cm) wingspan x 1 3/8" (3.49cm) H and while I have no scale aircraft in this general size, these appear to be very close to 1/72 scale. A quick search of 1/72 scale Zero's on fleaBay show those to be 5" long so this is close. The 'Battleground' playsets were essentially PTO (Pacific Theater of Operations) themed and as such didn't include planes like Messerschmitt's or Focke Wolfe's. What a shame, those would have been awesome if Marx offered stuff like that, but it is what it is! Enjoy! Opa Fritz

It appears as if someone (a kid?) drew on this plane with a marker
