Processed Plastic / Tim-Mee Toy Marvel Comic Group (MCG) Thor Plastic Figure 1981 - Blue SP 70mm

Up until yesterday I had no idea who made this, but this time I waited to post this toy until I could get a response from the gang in the facebook (Meta) hobby groups. A good thing too because several responders all supplied the same answer. This Thor figure is apparently quite rare now but was part of series of Marvel superhero's made by Processed Plastic (Tim-Mee) called the "Activated Marvel Super Heroes Collection Set" which were available as carded sets of figures and accessories. They all had holes in their hands to accommodate the accessories or to slide down strings. In any case, when Processed Plastic lost the licensing from Marvel, the tooling was altered, which gave them a slightly different appearance. Thor here measures 3"/70mm high to the top of his head. Hasbro Avenger's Ensemble - #01 Battle Hammer Thor

From the 2011 Film "Thor" starring Australian Chris Hemsworth, comes Hasbro's first figure in its Avenger's Ensemble: Thor. The multi-articulated figure is part of the 4" (10.2cm) scale line and includes two weapons; Thor's hammer (Mjolnir), and a sword which transforms into a hammer. The figure itself is fairly decent at standing up all by itself. The only problem I had posing him for photos was when he was trying to hold the sword/hammer. The figure's left hand isn't stiff enough to hold the weapon very well and it kept falling out. Other than that it is a really neat figure whose facial features really reflect Chris Hemsworth's and will be a welcome addition to anyone's Avenger's collection. Enjoy!
