Forces of Valor (FOV) 54mm Vikings Raiders & Discoverers Set No. 22002

This is the second set of 54mm Vikings Forces of Valor put out back in 2006. Like I said in a previous post, FOV made excellent figures and then stopped at only a couple of sets devoting most of their creative energy to their World War II figure line. This set has a lancer/spearman and the same archer that was included in the previously posted set. As always they included a couiple of battlefield accessories, in this case a couple of hay bales and a chunk of timber. Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina

Recognize this guy? He was in the 4-figure set we just posted the past few days

Forces of Valor (FOV) 54mm Vikings Raiders & Discoverers Set No. 23002 - Pt 5

One of the great features of FOV figure sets is the inclusion of battlefield accessories, Always detailed and great for setting the scene in a diorama. This set includes a pile of hay bales and two battle worn shields. Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina

Here's a Britains archer barrier alongside the FOV pile of hay bales

Forces of Valor (FOV) 54mm Vikings Raiders & Discoverers Set No. 23002 - Pt 4

Axe wielding Vikings are a staple of the miniature figure world but most of the time you'll see them flail a short handled axe. This marauder has a l-o-n-g handled axe! What I enjoy seeing is the attention in detail to their clothing and that none of them are wearing the Wagnerian opera horned helmets (thank you FOV!). Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina

The FOV axeman is shown alongside the Conte axeman we reviewed early in August. Both are very detailed and make great additions to any Viking invasion force.
