My series on GIANT Plastics Corp space toys is finished but even so the occasional odd post will probably show up from time to time, like this googly-eyed blow-molded silver alien. It is obviously a knock-off of one of GIANT's alien figures but is considerably larger as you can see by the photo below. I came across this a few months ago during a random fleaBay search and had to get it. I can only assume that whoever made this, most likely made the other figures in the series, so as they say, the hunt is on! Enjoy! Opa Fritz
I love this guy and have seen him many times over the years. he reminds me of a riveted deep sea diving space platypus and yes, an alien! The rifle looks like the Space Cadet one = different to the LP astronaut rifle I think - and the little bottle it's holding recalls the same one an LP astronaut holds. Maybe you could put the same LP spacemen next to the Giant alien for comparison and .... fun!
ReplyDeleteLOL - he does look like an alien deep sea diver doesn't he? I haven't seen these blow-mold aliens before so when this came up for sale I snatched it up. Well Woodsy, as luck would have it, I already have a comparison photo of this guy along with several other manufacturers aliens. I'll post it soon.
