Photographing the space toys in the collection has slowed down some as they've become buried under the mess from the MaP tear down, but this toy managed to surface to the top. From 1937 comes the 5" (12.7cm) long dirigible 'USN Los Angeles' from Tootsietoy, one of four Buck Rogers themed offerings which also included the Battlecruiser, Flash Blast Attack Ship, and Venus Duo-Destroyer. Like the others, it has two pulley wheels on top through which string is threaded allowing the toy to 'fly' from one end of the string to the next. This toy, which was originally sold for 10 cents can command several hundred dollars in pristine condition with the box. I got mine relatively cheap (in 2015 dollars) because it has condition issues - and I'm okay with that Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina
Excellent specimen!
