Here's the second of the two DeHavilland Comet's I found out in The Cave. They weren't with my other airplanes but rather were in the packages containing the Marxville plastic airplane hangars.

Marx DeHavilland DH 106 Comet - Green HP

Having been scouring through The Hoard lately I discovered two airplanes that I totally forgot I had: the green and yellow variations of the DeHavilland Comet! Wow - it's like Christmas. Today we'll look at the green version.

Marx DeHavilland DH 106 Comet - Olive Drab HP REDUX

Back in 2015 I posted this Marx DeHavilland Comet and am reposting it today cuz it'll serve as an intro to a few days of Marx plastic aircraft you might like. The original post back in 2015 has a more thorough write-up on the plane's history so I'm gonna dispense with that today. 

These planes were originally included in the Marx #3832 Airport Set which was first featured in the 1953 catalog. The catalog actually shows a different kind of plane (which will be in a later post), however the artwork for the box clearly shows the Comet. It measures 4.875" (12,38cm) L x 6" (15,24cm) wingspan x 1.375" (3,49cm) H.

You'll notice the aircraft in the catalog is not a Comet. Marx made several planes in the ~4 3/4" - 5" size rangem any of which could have come with the airport set.
