We're gonna look at some down-sized Little Green Army Men vehicles for a few days here and we're gonna start it off with this Gilmark Merchandise Corp. Armored Car. We've posted a bunch of Gilmark civilian cars and trucks here on the blog before but this is our first venture into their military gear. The car is an olive drab hard plastic measuring 3 1/4" (8.25cm) L x 1 3/8" (3.49cm) W x 1 5/8" (4.25cm) H and was made from 1951 to mid-'50s. "U.S.A." is heat stamped in white on the rear of the truck. As I slowly-but-surely go through my collection it's apparent these fit right in with Pyro's smaller sized line of hard plastic Army vehicles as well as Marx's Army vehicles which they used as loads for O-gauge flat cars. I'd like to explore the comparisons more in the upcoming months but have to take things one day at a time nowadays. Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina
The Auburn Half-Track was still out and available while photographing the Gilmark Armored Car so I took some comparison shots
