Our grand baby Melody turned the big T-W-O today! You know what that means, we're again living with a little one in their TERRIBLE TWO'S aaaarrrrggh! hahahahaha We had forgotten what that was like with our two kids having passed that milestone thirty years ago - I guess were gonna get re-educated real soon!
The first thing Melody saw when she woke up (besides Oma & Opa wishing her a 'good morning and Happy Birthday'. Melody got a Step 2 Lifestyle Custom Kitchen from Wal-Mart and it's really pretty decent and wasn't expensive at all $79 w/FREE shipping). Lots of drawers and doors and nooks and crannies for kids to put stuff in. Assembly was fairly easy, but I think it took longer to put on all the peel-&-stick appliques than it did to assemble the kitchen! lol. There's a battery operated 'burner' that, when you place the little frying pan on it makes a frying sound. When you place the little pot on it it makes a boiling sound. The sounds turn off automatically after approx 20 seconds. It comes with two small sets of forks/knives/spoons, bowls, cups, saucers, and salt & pepper shakers (which have no bottoms so kids won't be tempted to fill them with salt/pepper and make a gosh-awful mess - trust me, we've already been through that with the REAL salt-&-pepper shakers hahahahaha).
She may be only two years old but she is a b-i-g girl. For several months now we've been buying clothes sized for 4 & 5 year-olds for her!! That means she's gonna outgrow this kitchen playset before long and we'll need to (very carefully) teach her to use the real kitchen.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCHATZIE VON OMA und OPA!!
Happy birthday to your little girl! All the best things of all the world for her!
