Letters From Ray: A World War II Army Private's Letters Home - Pt 5

April 4, 1944

Dear Mom and Dad,

This is a quick note to let you know my full address.  As you can see I am with the First Armored Division and I like it.  Were at the Angio beachhead and I’ve been assigned to a field tank as assistant driver.  The name of the tank is “Jesus Saves”.  With a name like that how can I go wrong.  I’m still in the best of health and seem to be living good.  I send a picture of myself home about a week ago and I don’t know whether the V-mail will send it home or not.

I lost my wallet in Palermo just two day before I left the ?dryyoue town and I really miss it…so had all the pictures your sent and plenty of cards.  Damn this war.
