About twelve years ago or so, in a fit of abject stupidity, I got rid of most of the boxes for the diecast vehicles I had at the time. Since then they've been sitting in box and not really being used. I decided to sell off a bunch and keep some around for the train layout but before they hit the chopping block I'll take pics and post them.
Some of the cars, like this Tucker Torpedo, have an interesting story. Built under the guidance of Preston Tucker by the Tucker Corporation only 51 of these innovative cars were built in 1948 before the Tucker Corporation succumbed to adverse plublicity and a big lawsuit. The car was actually designated The Tucker 48 by the Tucker Corporation but is commonly called The Tucker Torpedo. This version, made by Matchbox/Dinky, measures 5" (12.7cm) L x 1 3/4" (4.44cm) W x 1 1/2" (3.81cm) H. Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina
