K-Line Kruisers (by SunnySide) No. K-94570 - Ford Model A Stakebed Truck - Heinz Tomato Ketchup Chassis No. 4625-30

Welll, I hope you all had a safe and relatively sane New Year's Eve celebration. We made one mistake - we stayed up! OMG we were absolutely bored out of our skulls. Not being party animals and being very averse to crowds we always stay home. Some years we just go to bed early and to hell with ringing in the new year. Occasionally we stay up, have a sip of wine and give a toast to the crappy ass old year finally being gone. As for celebrating a new year? NO!! It makes little or no sense to celebrate the coming of a year which could end up being a total disaster!!!!! And I'm here to smell ya - we've had far too many lousy years. You won't see much of a hint of it here on the blog because this is my 'positive energy' outlet, but the realty is, it's been very tough for us for a l-o-n-g time. Okay, 'nuff crying in my milk! Happy Friggin' New Year for what it's worth!

BTW, here's some pics Bettina took of the neighborhood and Strip fireworks. She braved the cold to get these so they're a bit shaky. :-) Enjoy! Opa Fritz

Some illegal fireworks here in Da Hood

The Stratosphere Tower
Apparently the fireworks had initially been called off on The Strip because of the winds. Then they died down and the displays were back on again

One of the reasons for the delay in posting was waiting for this Heinz Tomato Ketchup truck to come in. Then, when it did come in, I was busy trying to slowly dismantle this year's Christmas display. Health issues - like a painful, gimpy leg - made doing anything around here really slow going and it was only just today that the track, train, and all the buildings have been taken off of the layout. Mind you, I haven't put them away yet - they're just waiting on a shelf for that last piece of tidying up.
