The inspiration for this piece was poster for the 1951 film Flight to Mars. The primary visual element in the poster is that large red orb surrounded by a red-orange halo. Bettina has taken thousands of photos and I have seen some of the sun with a halo around it, but for the life of me can't find a good example to use. However, I did use two of her photos for this picture. A photo of the sun with somewhat of a starburst effect around it and another photo of a fiery red sun taken around sunset. I superimposed the fiery red pic over the other, chose a more striking color palette, and changed the destination to Orion. Enjoy! Opa Fritz
