Our third post looks at Tyco's companion piece to their Sesame Street space explorer set: Big Bird. Big Bird is a either a caricature or maybe he's meant to represent a younger, smaller kid as he doesn't tower over Ernie as he would have on the TV show. He has his own little space suit which, to me, is reminiscent of early spacesuit designs by Grumman and Republic Aviation. It is of course a toy for little kids, so it's a tad bulky and is meant to come apart easily but it's a fun little piece. Enjoy! Opa Fritz
