Sometime during the late '40s to mid-'50s, Marx offered a friction motor drive used in cars, trucks, tanks, airplanes, etc. They seemed to be awfully proud of it too, because now I have two toys with 'FRICTION MOTOR' prominently emblazoned on them, meaning it's most likely there were more toys in the series. My question is: was this their first foray into friction motor drives, or was it an advancement from earlier designs? As friction motor technology advanced, it apparently became just another thing and wasn't made a big deal of in future toys. The tank measures: 4.5" (11.43cm) L x 2" (5.08cm) W x 2" (5.08cm) H.
