In this next series of Marx military playset figures, I'm looking at the eleven different poses of USAF figures which were introduced in 1954 to accompany the Sabre and Banshee jets new for that year as well (and which we've already covered). The catalog extract shown below also shows the 'Camp' poses new for that year. I have a nearly complete set but haven't yet taken photos of them - been too warm in The Cave. The USAF figures had their photos taken in May when it was still nice out there.

The proper way to measure figures: using an upright figure, measure from the bottom of the feet to the top of the head (allowing for the figure wearing any headgear). He is definitely not 45mm or 54mm.
When I first started collecting back in the '90s I noticed one very disturbing thing: those early collector's didn't know how to use rulers as I saw figures listed in outrageously wrong sizes!
