Many years ago I decided to get rid of all, or nearly all, of my Pacific Theater of Operations (PTO) toys and concentrate on my European Theater of Operations (ETO) stuff. There are a couple of exceptions, but overall, I don't have many PTO toys. That said, the recent job lot I acquired had this repo Marx Japanese flag with it. Made by Marx Toys, Inc. it has a soft vinyl plastic base and pole and a paper flag vs. the hard plastic pole and metal flag of the original. Marx did make an Iwo Jima playset and other PTO themed sets that would have included this type of flag, but except for bits-&-pieces, I do not have a boxed set.
