Here's another Nifty '50s Army vehicle, the U.S. Army Medical Department Ambulance by Ideal. Per Bill Hanlon's DIMESTORE DREAMS Plastic Toys of the '40s & '50s, the ambulance was numbered 4901 from 1951-52 and 4900 from 1951-53. The 'I-1729' designation in the blog post title comes from the toy itself and is molded into the underside. It was available with red or white crosses and measures 6 1/4" (15.87cm) L x 2" (5.08cm) W x 2 1/4" (5.71cm) H. Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina
