FIRST A BIG SHOUT OUT AND A "MANY THANX" TO HUGH WALTER OVER AT "SMALL SCALE WORLD" BLOG
It's been four years since I did anything for Halloween here on the blog. Back then I was hot-&-heavy into the Halloween theme and was acquiring stuff for the next set-up even after the season passed. Little did I know it would take me four years to get the 'oomph' to re-engage. This is where Hugh comes in. We worked out a trade for some stuff I had back in 2016 -17?? He offered to send some of these terrific 'Deadstone Valley' sets marketed by H. Grossman Limited (HGL) in the U.K. in return for some Pyro military toys. I have to apologize to Hugh for being sooooo late in covering these gems, but, as I am wont to say, I get easily distracted :-) He sent me two carded sets and two boxed sets at great cost - unfortunately postage rates from most of Europe are astronomical (we complain about our rates here Stateside but we still have it good - trust me - we HAVE IT GOOD!)
'Deadstone Valley' is a set of ghoulishly delightful figures, each coming with its own coffin and burial plot. The headstones all have funny sayings on them and there are more than a dozen figures in the range. Unfortunately I haven't been on the look-out for more of these as my interests have swayed from one subject to the next since then, but I may be in the market for more. I have no clue as to how extensive this line of toys really is so it'll be a learning experience. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

Flo measures 3 1/4" (8.25cm) D x 1 7/8" (4.76cm) W x 2 3/4" (6.98cm) H. The set includes a coffin with removable lid and detachable headstones. The figures sit on a hinged base which is the coffin end and they can be removed as well. The result is such that you can pose them in a way that makes them appear to be rising from the dead. Often times the coffin has little surprises molded in it like mice or spiders LOL In addition, it appears as if the product or item numbers on the sets are the same for all of them - hmmmm
I was happy to help Ed . . . and glad we managed to find as many as we did when it was a clearance thing. The postage is a funny one, back then you guys were still cheaper than us, but now the postage rates being quoted on eBay.com are almost prohibitive, especially on the sort of cheap bargains I'm looking out for! But the Russians, Ukrainians, Lithuanians etc . . . I'm getting stuff from them quoted at $6US which comes-in at less than a fiver? Go Figure as they say your side of the pond . . . they do take about three to four weeks to get here from the East though! And the tracking page always has them 'released to leave Russia' until the day they arrive!

You know Hugh, I am totally at a loss to figure out postal rates - my country or anyone else's. For example, I bought a really cool - and quite large - space toy a couple of months ago. It came from Belgium which is normally among the expensive countries to buy from. Yet the postage was about the same or less than if it were shipped Priority Mail Stateside from the east coast. Go figure! And yes, it took quite awhile to arrive. I bought an O-gauge train accessory from France earlier this year that took three months to get here!! It took so long there was no 'feedback' option in eBay (I've noticed if you don't leave feedback within a certain amount of time, the feedback option just disappears)
