K-Line was a powerhouse in the 3-rail O-gauge world for nearly twenty years before legal problems caused them to be bought out and absorbed by Lionel - but that's a story for a different time. Right now we are going to look at the first of three Christmas villages they made through the years. This one was released in 1992 as a K-Line Collector's Club offering and included six plastic buildings in bright holiday colors and tons of holiday graphics. All the buildings are based off of the old Marx tooling. The two stores have all new facades designed by K-Line to fit on the walls of the old Marx stores. Additional details are included by each set of photos. Enjoy! Opa Fritz
I've had this boxed set for m-a-n-y years now and decided it was time to break it out and assemble it
The plain white cardboard carton is adorned with a line drawing of all six structures
Each kit is individually boxed
This is why I didn't build the set earlier - looking at all these peel-&-stick appliques' and knowing they had to be applied was intimidating
