Back when K-Line was in its prime during the 1990's, their prodigious output of licensed products was almost staggering. Two brands in particular stand out above the rest: Coca-Cola and Hershey's. K-Line offered sets with steam engines and diesel engines. There were also buildings, figures, vehicles, and accessories to compliment the line as well, enough to make a nice little village on a train layout (as you've seen by the my portable Hershey's train layout).
The set we'll be looking at for the next week or so is their celebratory Hershey's 100th Anniversary set #K-1401 with a specially decorated 4-6-2 Pacific steam engine pulling four cars and a caboose. There were also four structures included as well as an oval of O-27 track and a transformer. This is the set that got me started both on K-Line and on Hershey's toys in general. Today we'll take a look at the box, contents, and paper ephemera. Individual pieces will be covered in upcoming posts. Be Blessed and Relish Life! Ed
