The diesel's included in this set are beautifully decorated ALCO FA's that would have been built around the 1950-56 time frame. The diesels lend themselves well to colorful and exciting liveries and these are no exception (some of my favorite colors are tan and brown and one of my favorite foods is chocolate, so for me, this is an exciting livery!) 😁 The 'AB' set of diesels which came in my set were unrun. The seller had listed the set as 'New in Box' but I had my doubts. After inspection of all the components, he was basically right. All the components were unopened/unrun/unbuilt. Only the track had been removed from the box it would have originally been packaged in. It's odd that with all the attention paid to the packaging of the set components, that these engines were placed in plain, unadorned white cardboard boxes. However, they're meant to protect the engines and they do that just fine. What's nice about these K-Line diesels, is that all the handrails are separately applied and they are all nice and in a scale thickness (Lionel, on the other hand, continues to use handrails made out of rebar with no care given as to whether they're scale looking or not!). Be Blessed and Relish Life! Ed
