Supposedly the red-yellow Flintmobile from Marx is rare because it was only included in the initial Montgomery Wards half sets. Apparently, Montgomery Wards wasn't convinced the TV series or toys would do well, so instead of offering the full playset version, they offered a set with only half the pieces: less buildings, less figures, less accessories, etc. Both Fred and Barney's car in this set were offered in red-yellow vs. the red-blue found in the larger playsets. That said, collector's have found examples of the red-yellow variation in MIB examples of the full playset.
