Play Along's Gondorian Catapult is a beautifully designed, highly detailed toy. There were so many things going n with it that I missed a couple of important details even after photographing the thing. There is only one shortcoming that I found: while the catapult has a pully system attached to the arm, there's no way to actually lower the basket so that it can be re-loaded.

This diagram can be found on multiple sites.
This engraving shows a similar system to to the Gondorian catapult but shows two long poles placed in off-set holes in the roller used to lower the arm.

There are two means of firing the catapult.
1) Hitting this strike plate
2) Pulling back on this lever
