Here's another accessory which simply doesn't belong in a bag full of Vikings - the siege cannon. Cannons didn't appear on the European stage until a century or two after the Age of Vikings came to a close with the Norman conquest of England in 1066. However, it can still be used with other Knight and castle toys. This is definitely a toy as that large hole in the top of the barrel will attest to. Supposedly, you would load the round shot into that hole, pull back on the spring-loaded firing pin, and release. I'm still confused as to why a large hole is needed to load the cannon when the round shot can simply be placed down the muzzle. The cannon's elevation can be adjusted as well Enjoy!
