NOTE: after a bit of research the two cabins shown today are most probably the earlier style of buildings while the cabin I posted yesterday is a later style. Sorry for the confusion folks but this is an on-going research effort.
The two cabins shown here today were essentially the basis for several offerings in MPC's early line-up of Western buildings. This original cabin that I'm calling version 1, is made from a soft vinyl plastic (repo cabins are made in the harder styrene plastic). Being a softer plastic meant the inevitable warping and misshaping of the pieces. Both of these suffer from bowed floors and hopefully placing a weight inside and just waiting a couple of months should help straighten these out.
You can use these buildings as is, or as they were originally sold (I'll feature those variations in upcoming blog posts). The basic structure consists of a one-piece casting for the floor and walls and a separate casting for the roof. The roof is held in place by a tab in the middle of each side of the roof that fits into a slot in the middle of each wall. The walls measure 3 1/2" (8.89cm) W x 5" (12.70cm) D and the overall height is 4 1/2" (11.43cm) H to the top of the chimney. Enjoy
